On this website, I post my interests, ideas and passions. I post what I love; filmmaking, anime, manga, storytelling, machinimas, philosophy, photography and much more!
For a very long time, I have always found it very hard to express myself on the Internet. I have deep interests in a lot of media-related materials, but have never had the ability to share my thoughts to others and to find myself a community of people who are as similarly passionate of these subjects as I am.
Around the end of September 2024, I discovered Neocities, a web hosting service. It was the first time I stepped out of my routine of watching YouTube videos all day, and actually surfed the Internet. I was greeted with a whole new world of personal sites, more commonly known as the "Indie Web". At that same time, an Internet movement was being created and spread across this, called The Web Revival Movement". This concept of regrowing the old Internet onto our new Internet fascinated me, and I wanted to get involved fast!
So I began creating this website for myself and others to freely explore, and so that I can track my personal journey into filmmaking and other media-related stuff, creating a personal archive for myself!
This site offers a personal diary of my journey into filmmaking, and a place where I can freely share my interests! The website grows with the content I plan to post on it, and by the next year, there should already be (hopefully) a plethora of content for you to see!
This website was launched on May 31st, 2025 - The day I bought my domain name "chibiisan.com" and published my site there! However, the day I created this website on my computer dates back to November 25th, 2024. So yeah, it has taken me a very long time to create, configure and stabilize this website.
Glad you asked! A machinima is a combination of two words; "machine" and "cinema". It is the practice, technique, and use of video games for storytelling and filmmaking.
Let's say, you have a really good webseries idea, that strictly relies on animation. It isn't made in real life. However, you don't have the skills to 2D or 3D animate! Maybe you don't know how to draw well, and you are afraid it will take a painstakingly long amount of time for you to even get your first episode out.
But wait! You have an idea! What if, you just used your favourite video game, and create the story in there! This is what a machinima is. It is an inspiring community, and once was a big deal in the early 2000s to 2010s. The machinima community has been a small, nearly inactive community for years - but that is slowly changing, as of recent years, people are starting to create stories within Minecraft! Which, if you didn't know, is a video game!
Machinima creation is a big interest in mine, and I want to share my skills on this website, and on other social media sites aswell!
Currently, Minecraft is the most useful and popular video game option for machinima creation. That could change in the future, but I doubt it will. Minecraft is the best-selling video game of all time, with over 300 million copies sold and nearly 170 million monthly active players as of 2024. It beats Grand Theft Auto V! Everyone owns the game - The most popular option being Java Edition.
There are tons of Minecraft mods that allow for content creation and animation.
I use BBS (BlockBuster Studio) mod, created by Minecraft modder McHorse. It is a relatively new and revolutionary tool for Minecraft machinima content creation and animation. It is a really powerful tool, but it is quite underrated. Be sure to check it out and use it yourself!
Me! Or a catgirl version of me, that I go by on the Internet! The name "chibii" derives from my old cat of the same name (I added an extra "i" because why not), and "-san" derives from the Japanese honorific for "dear" / "Mr" or "Mrs", a form of respect for both genders. Combinate these two and BOOM! You've got a catchy and memorable name! She's also quite cute :P
You can follow me on all my social media listed on the front-page! I have a YouTube channel, where I plan to upload longer-formed content, and a TikTok account where I post shorter-formed content!
Yes! There will be some more updates to this site, but they only will occur when there is more growing content on the website. I plan to make a tagging system so users can navigate specific blogs easier.
Once I have finished with all the necessary site updates, I don't plan to add more afterwards. I mostly want to focus on blog content rather than site updating / functionality.
I believe that going for a more simplistic design to a website is better. Plus, I'm not really great at more modern and advanced web design lol.
